Holy Week - 2017

Holy Week is that special time when we pause to remember the fact that Jesus is the Savior of the World. He became the means by which our sins are forgiven. Our journey through Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday when we recall the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. But the reception he received changed over the next few days. We mark Maundy Thursday with a communion service at 7 pm. The term Maundy comes from the Latin which is the first work of the expression Jesus gave when he commanded us to love one another. Maundy Thursday marks the commemoration of the Last Supper. Our Good Friday service at 7 pm is when we remember the death of Jesus on the Cross. This is a Tenebrae service where the room becomes darker as we move toward the moment of our Lord's death, and it is contrasted by the wonderful light of Easter Sunday when we celebrate the Resurrection!
